The testing personnel are nationally certified laboratory scientists and have completed a bachelor degree program and a year of internship. The Laboratory provides full phlebotomy services with staff in all inpatient and outpatient areas. Our phlebotomy staff have all completed an accredited phlebotomy program and most are nationally certified. Our phlebotomy staff use a state-of-the-art wireless handheld computer to ensure patient safety.

Position Summary: Supervises phlebotomy personnel and operations to ensure quality and compliance with relevant policies and ethics. Monitors patient safety during the sample collection process and proper experimental practices. Develops, implements and evaluates laboratory personnel training. Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
- Manages samples of blood and other fluids from patients; ensures patient safety during the sample collection process.
- Monitors subordinates' work and progress to ensure that all laboratory employees comply with relevant policies and ethics.
- Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations; deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures.
- Oversees and develops laboratory personnel training; instructs, supervises and manages technicians to conduct proper experimental practices.
The Phlebotomy Technician will perform venipuncture, heelstick and/or fingerstick for the purpose of collecting blood specimens for laboratory test procedures on neonate, infant, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
