Under the direct supervision of a registered therapist or nurse, demonstrates competency in the delivery of patient care to a general rehabilitation population, which can include adult and geriatric patients.   Minimum:   - Minimum of one-year acute care hospital or rehab setting patient care experience required. - Completion of an approved Rehabilitation Aide program or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. - Ability to perform basic nursing tasks as identified in Rehabilitation Technician competency skills checklist required. - Current Certified Nursing Assistant, AND / OR successful completion of one year of nursing, OT, PT or Speech college level course work required. - Ability to interpret type and level of patient care ordered, record patient vital signs, understand and follow basic patient care instructions, and perform simple arithmetic calculations in order to take and record patient weight, vital signs and graphics (intake/output) required. - Current BLS certification required. Preferred:   - Knowledge of physical, occupational, speech therapy and nursing principles for the rehabilitation setting preferred. - College course work in nursing, Physical, Speech or Occupational Therapy preferred.
