Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Physician and Registered Nurse, assists in the performance of technical surgical procedures in the operative environment. Sets up the operating room for procedures according to physician preference card and the type of surgical intervention to be performed, the patient’s age, developmental and size considerations. Performs selected surgical scrub functions in the operative suite involving patient preparation, as well as preparation of the suite and attendant instruments and supplies. Patient age populations served, and the specific competencies that comprise this job title are found in the Department/Unit Orientation & Initial Assessment of Competency” checklist for this unit/positions, and -by reference- form a part of this job description.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program or Certified Surgical Technologist designation from (AST or NCCT)
- Must be able to take call shifts as assigned. Not required for MOSS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year experience as a Surgical Technologist

About This Position:
Greets and escorts patients into the department and to the proper treatment area, assisting them as necessary; ensures that all treatment areas are clean, safe, well stocked and ready for patient treatment; does ongoing inventory of supplies and assures that they are always available by ordering as necessary; under the direct supervision of a qualified Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Certified Occupational therapist Assistant assists with patient treatment related activities consistent with his/her abilities and experience. Previous experience in a medically oriented area preferred Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, accurately, and possess good interpersonal skills.

Ability to assist in the teaching of techniques and procedures of Physical and/or Occupational therapy to patients and their family. Able to follow and perform under direct supervision. Should be certified in CPR.

The California Hospital Medial Center Early Care and Education programs provide early care and education services for infants, toddlers and pre-school children. Staff within these programs are charged with nurturing and stimulating the social, emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development of each child. Position Summary:
The Ambulatory Care Social Worker functions as a leader of the Dignity Health care interdisciplinary team (IDT) collaborating with all departments to ensure that a comprehensive treatment plan of care is developed, monitored, and amended as necessary, and that appropriate outcome measures are identified that demonstrate attainment of individual patient goals. The Ambulatory Care Social Worker will assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate options and services to meet a patient’s need within an assigned case load, using available resources to assist in achieving an effective treatment plan while promoting quality health care with cost effective outcomes. Special attention to detail in the patient population’s psychosocial needs and assistance is a must.
The Ambulatory Care Social Worker works closely with the RN Case Manager to coordinate care plans based on the utilization review activities performed by the RN Case Manager with compliance of federal, state and third party payers. Will be required to participate in performance improvement initiatives related to appropriate patient care management and perform other departmental duties as assigned. The care team program improves the quality of care and clinical outcomes for members with complex care needs by coordinating care within the health care delivery system, while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, flexible, case management services to adults within Mercy Medical Group within continuity of care context, including advocacy for services within the community, social services system.
