The candidate should have a strong background in chemical/pharmaceutical sciences with a reasonable working knowledge in translational research. Candidates who have experience in LC-MS/MS-based method development/validation and can demonstrate competency in pharmacokinetic data analysis will be preferred. The candidate should be highly motivated, able to work well in teams, and have excellent communication skills. All work is performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The pharmacy intern will also demonstrate competency in patient care for patient population served. Other duties within scope of practice may be assigned by supervising pharmacist. The intern may be required to work at another GSSA facility. Upon graduation from Pharmacy School, the Pharmacy Intern may transition into the Graduate Intern Pharmacist position.  - Demonstrated knowledge of legal restrictions on the activities of pharmacy interns, Federal and State regulations relating to pharmaceutical transactions, medical abbreviations, pharmaceutical terminology and calculations. - Presription processing, aseptic technique in the preparation of intravenous admixtures and total parenteral nutrition. - Safe handling of antineoplastic/chemotherapeutic agents, generic or trade names of medication, extemporaneous prescription compounding of sterile and non-sterile products.  - Provide education to patients, staff and physicians in a professional manner.    The incumbent shall demonstrate behaviors consistent with the core (Mercy) values in support with Mercy General Hospital and the Mission and Philosophy of Dignity Health.
