Site Specific information: Saint Patrick Succeed Academy, in Sacramento has a preschool and an elementary school that serves students aged kindergarten through eighth grade. The nurse assists the preschool with the immunization paperwork, but the preschool director submits the reports. The school has children with chronic health conditions. The site has two AED’s and emergency epinephrine. There are several children who receive public school services, such as tutoring or speech therapy. The resource teacher will occasionally ask for assistance with children identified in the Student Study Team (SST) process.   St. Philomene, is a small school that serves children in transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. A current student requires daily medical interventions. The office staff is trained to perform in the absence of the nurse. Teaching for the staff is done on a quarterly basis and as needed. It is important to note that the administrator accompanies the older students on the off-site science camps (grades 6th, 7th, and 8th each go to week long camps once during the school year). This means that additional staff members need to be trained. The school has emergency epinephrine, but does not have an AED.   St. Robert School is  the largest of the three schools and serves children in transitional kindergarten through the eighth grade. The school has many children with peanut/nut allergies and does not allow peanut or nut products in school lunches, snacks, or classroom treats. Staff education about avoidance of allergens is very important at this school site. The school has an AED and emergency epinephrine.   Tentative Schedule: Candidate will spend 1 day per week at each school.  Schedule is to be determined upon need of each school and will vary. The School year is Mid August through end of May.  Duties will likely start August 1st and run through Mid June. The Summer School session runs through June 1st to July 17th.   SELECTION FOR THIS TITLE WILL BEGIN IN JUNE.
