The department manager is responsible for planning, developing and implementing stroke and orthopedic center initiatives under the guidance of the Director. He/she will maintain quality standards for responsive service including data management of all quality indicators. He/she develops and implements outcomes evaluation as guided by The Joint Commission accreditation standards to ensure ongoing accreditation  Principal Duties and Accountabilities: - Manages and coordinates all staff/physician education needed for the stroke and orthopedic program in coordination with the nursing education department. - Identifies patient/family/Care Partner psychosocial needs (i.e. cultural, spiritual) and addresses as applicable. - Completes hospital and department presentations to include new information and required reports, legibly, accurately and within designated time frame. - Provides clinical resources and consultation to staff regarding stroke patients with clinical complex needs. - In the event of simultaneous Code Strokes, where additional clinical support is needed by the Stroke Advance Practice Nurse (APN), he/she will attend.
