The PAC Transition Nurse performs this role in such a manner as to meet the individual’s health needs while promoting quality and cost effective outcomes. This includes studies evaluating the gut-brain axis in neurodegenerative disease, the role of alpha-synuclein in symptomology, and the role of non-dopamine circuits. As part of the project, a strong emphasis will be placed on the design and evaluation of novel viral vectors. These vectors will be utilized to study disease proteins and circuits in various preclinical models of disease. The fellow will participate in the day to day operations of the research lab; duties will include collaborative experimental design, conducting experimental laboratory work, analyzing and writing up results for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
