Community Hospital San Bernardino is looking for an Infection Prevention to work with our Sub-Acute team.  This position will report directly to the Director of Nursing.  The Infection Control directs managerial functions of planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the Infection Control Program. The IP has the authority to take necessary steps to prevent and control the acquisition and transmission of infectious agents in the patient, staff, and visitor populations. The Infection Prevention (IP) is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections; educating employees about infection control; and developing organizational infection control standards that meet state and federal regulatory and accrediting bodies, CDC, OSHA, and APIC guidelines. Qualifications: - The Infection Preventionist must have primary professional training in one of the following: nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, medical technology, or a related field - The IP must be qualified for this role through education, training, certification, or experience - The IP must have completed specialized training in Infection Prevention and Control - The IP needs to work at least part-time at the facility.   The designated Infection Preventionist must be a member of the facility’s QAA Committee.
