Works in conjunction with Quality to provide leadership in defining, implementing and integrating quality, safety, service and efficiency strategies into the plans, policies, and organizational processes that affect the organization's operations and strategic direction. Assumes hospital-wide responsibility for coordinating all aspects of the Magnet readiness. Responsible for assuring that Magnet standards are deployed and evidence-based practice and performance excellence are hardwired into all areas of the organization. Responsible for the oversight of the High Reliability Program that promotes a culture of safety and focuses on proactive strategies to eliminate avoidable harm to patients and caregivers. Provides support and leadership for change management initiatives related to process improvement and service excellence.   Job Standards: - In collaboration with facility leadership, executes the strategic plan and deployment, performance improvement, organizational effectiveness, innovation, and consultation projects - Achieves the financial targets assigned for department productivity and work stream value creation for performance improvement - Trains, mentors and coaches leaders, physicians, executive sponsors, and team members. Provides process, analytical,and problem solving expertise to teams and projects. - Facilitates activities and meetings as needed to ensure rapid forward movement of sustainable solutions. - Ensures implementation and sustainability plans are thorough, consider all shifts and all stakeholders, and best-practices, change management techniques and locking mechanisms are in place. Provides direct support and leadership for implementation of projects as required - Creates organizational urgency and excitement for new initiatives and changes. Actively aligns executives, physicians leaders, and staff to accomplish the operating plan. - Provides education and training for team and as requested by the organization - Works in partnership with Quality on quality/safety/risk initiatives and assures proactive identification and resolution of actual or potential quality, safety, risk or regulatory issues. Maintains current awareness of related regulatory requirements and assures effective deployment of appropriate initiatives to assure compliance. Develops strategies to promote organizational change for the improvement of the patient care environment - Implements and provides oversight over the high reliability program. - Leads, coaches, and mentors leaders and staff to improve their high reliability and error prevention skills. Creates training programs and opportunities for employees to expand and develop their skill set. Provides ongoing education to leaders, clinicians, and staff on the science of safety (high reliability, effective communication, sustaining awareness/alertness) as needed.
