The Aide Orderly (Certified Nurse Assistant, CNA) performs basic patient care, observations, and diagnostic services for the unit specific patient population within the guidelines of hospital policies and procedures under the direct supervision of their Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Registered Nurse (RN), and/or Nurse Management Member. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Community Hospital of San Bernardino. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support Community Hospital of San Bernardino strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement, process, and activities.

Position Summary:
Under the direction of a licensed nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Float Pool performs basic restorative services and basic nursing services which are directed at the safety,comfort, personal hygiene, basic mental health of patients and the protection of patients and the protection of patient rights.
- The CNA assigned to the Float Pool are required to perform these functions on any unit and any campus as needed.
- All CNA's practice within the scope and standards of practice set forth by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.

The Certified Nursing Assistant will work under the direction of the Registered Nurse and or Licensed Vocational Nurse in providing basic patient care services, basic patient observation and basic diagnostic services. May have access to and transport non-controlled medications as directed.
About This Position
Delivers bedside patient care. Maintains the standards of nursing care and practices consistent with the policies and procedures of the hospital and the Nursing Department. Provides care primarily to the adult and geriatric populations, however, may care for selected pediatric patients as required.

Assists the nursing staff by performing basic nursing care as defined by policies and procedures, for assigned patients (circle all that apply): Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Aging Adult. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span.
