Under the direct supervision from the Ultrasound Charge technologist, Director of Imaging and indirect supervision from the Imaging Medical Director performs a variety of routine diagnostic ultrasound procedures on a specific shift. Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to established standards and department policies. Prepares diagnostic ultrasound procedures for interpretation in accordance with established department policies and procedures. Also performs a variety of other duties including scheduling procedures, answering telephones, and interacting with other departmental and hospital employees. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of St. Bernardine Medical Center. The Ultrasound Technologist (ARDMS certified) is responsible for performing of daily imaging service in Ultrasound Imaging. Will perform all basic small body part imaging, doppler, arterial and invasive ultrasound imaging.

Through the use of accepted techniques and practices, provides high quality diagnostic ultrasound studies as follows: General Ultrasound: Performs ultrasound exams to include Abdominal, Obstetrical, Gynecological, small parts, cranial, spinal, external and endocavity procedures, and prostates. Performs breast imaging as needed in the Breast Center including diagnostic studies and biopsy. Aides with ultrasound guided procedures to include Para and Thoracentesis, Biopsy of various parts. Provides and documents technical findings and preliminary observations within the scope of practice as set by department policies, ARDMS, and the ACR. Non-Invasive Vascular Ultrasound: Performs non-invasive vascular examinations to include carotid duplex scans, arterial imaging and Doppler of the upper and lower extremities, abdominal vascular studies, and venous imaging and Doppler of the upper and lower extremities. Aides with ultrasound guided procedures to include surgical vascular studies, and Biopsy of various parts. Provides and documents technical findings and preliminary observations within the scope of practice as set by department policies, ARDMS, and the ACR. Communicates effectively with ancillary areas and internal staff. Able to evaluate, coordinates, and executes responsibilities under pressure situations. Has the initiative to resolve customer problems by self, and involve supervisors as necessary. Provides professional and quality care to patients from neonates to geriatrics while following hospital policies, procedures and standards. Assists in mentoring and training students involved in associated teaching programs. Performs other related job duties as assigned or requested. Answers the telephone and takes messages. Maintains and orders department supplies and inventory as directed. Responsible for scheduling designated department procedures (PFT or Bronchoscopes). Enters data for department billing. Performs EKGs for in-patients and out-patients of all ages (neonate to geriatric). Is responsible for the processing, filing and maintaining of EKG reports.

Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, the Unit Clerk/Scrub Technician performs unit support activities such as transporting patients, stocking shelves and cleaning work areas. Reports observations regarding patient status to the registered nurse. Demonstrates surgical knowledge and assists surgical team during operative procedure. Arranges sterile set-up and maintains good aseptic technique. Counts needles, sponges and instruments with circulating nurses. Cares for operative specimens. Assumes responsibility for equipment. Primarily cares for female patients with conditions relating to childbearing and general women's health and for newborns. In addition to these major responsibilities, the Unit Clerk/Scrub Technician may be assigned other duties from time to time. Position Summary: Under indirect supervision the incumbent is a caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for patients ranging in age from 30 days to geriatric. Responsibility is for a designated time frame. Summary:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager and/or other administrative staff, the Visitation Specialist I (VSI) works with children of divorced, separated and never married families, providing supervised visits, and monitored exchanges. The Visitation Specialist writes objective notes based on observations during visits. The Visitation Specialist's work schedule includes working holidays, weekends and week days/evenings, and provides on-call coverage. Other responsibilities may include compiling reports, conducting intake/orientations of clients and their children, writing and editing reports, data entry and other responsibilities as assigned. The VSI is required to work a minimum of one weekend day and one week day evening every two weeks, be available to work when on-call, and attend a monthly staff
development meeting.
The Wound Care Nurse is a skilled and experienced professional Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for the development, coordination, intervention, and monitoring of the St. Bernardine's Wound Care Program. The Wound Care Nurse provides expert direction and support, establishes standards of care and clinical competencies to meet patient needs, and training to ensure quality clinical care. The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for quality initiatives and compliance. The wound care nurse works collaboratively with the medical staff, and provides education to patients, caregivers and staff on wound, ostomy and continence care.
