The Ultrasound Technologist , who is under the direction of the Radiologist or supervising technologist, performs ultrasound procedures and documents accurate and quality sonographic studies of normal and abnormal anatomy. Must be able to do diagnostic US exams according to ACR guidelines. Must rotate between campuses. Must take call. Must rotate shifts. Start times may vary.
Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound/vascular procedures. This position requires providing diagnostic ultrasound to a department that provides care/service to critically ill through rehabilitating patients, newborn through geriatric population, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

Through the use of accepted techniques and practices, provides high quality diagnostic ultrasound studies as follows: General Ultrasound: Performs ultrasound exams to include Abdominal, Obstetrical, Gynecological, small parts, cranial, spinal, external and endocavity procedures, and prostates. Performs breast imaging as needed in the Breast Center including diagnostic studies and biopsy. Aides with ultrasound guided procedures to include Para and Thoracentesis, Biopsy of various parts. Provides and documents technical findings and preliminary observations within the scope of practice as set by department policies, ARDMS, and the ACR. Non-Invasive Vascular Ultrasound: Performs non-invasive vascular examinations to include carotid duplex scans, arterial imaging and Doppler of the upper and lower extremities, abdominal vascular studies, and venous imaging and Doppler of the upper and lower extremities. Aides with ultrasound guided procedures to include surgical vascular studies, and Biopsy of various parts. Provides and documents technical findings and preliminary observations within the scope of practice as set by department policies, ARDMS, and the ACR. Communicates effectively with ancillary areas and internal staff. Able to evaluate, coordinates, and executes responsibilities under pressure situations. Has the initiative to resolve customer problems by self, and involve supervisors as necessary. Provides professional and quality care to patients from neonates to geriatrics while following hospital policies, procedures and standards. Assists in mentoring and training students involved in associated teaching programs. Performs other related job duties as assigned or requested. Position Summary:
The Ultrasound Technician position is responsible for knowing his/her professional scope of practice as defined by the California Business and Professional Code and for satisfactorily completing the Dignity Health Medical Foundation orientation period that includes demonstrating skills and behaviors that meet a fully competent level of performance. Ultrasound Technician is to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, and performs patient care services that support the physician / provider's practice under the supervision of the radiologists, physician, other licensed staff and Management. This includes assisting in prepping patients for examinations, x-rays, and procedures, relaying instructions from the radiologist or physician to a patient or authorized person, and collecting patient data, documenting patient concerns, patient messages, and care provided to the patient in the patients medical record for the radiologist and physician's review, and performing diagnostic medical sonograms. May be required to occasionally work at other locations as needed.
The ULTRASOUND / PERIVASCULAR department at Chandler Regional Medical Center provides services to the East Valley community on an inpatient and outpatient basis. The department provides 24-hour coverage for the emergency room, surgery, obstetrics, intensive care, and wound care center. The ARDMS registered ultrasound staff has extensive knowledge and training in the areas of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. This allows the Sonographer to assist the Radiologist in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of illnesses for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. ACR and IAC accreditation is maintained for the studies performed at Chandler Regional Medical Center and include, but are not limited to; abdomen, OB/GYN, small parts, interventional procedures, carotid arteries, and upper/lower extremity venous and arterial Doppler.

In keeping with Marian Medical Center health care philosophy, the Unit Clerk/EKG Technician serves as a unit receptionist for the Respiratory Services Department.
Answers the telephone and takes messages. Maintains and orders department supplies and inventory as directed. Responsible for scheduling designated department procedures (PFT or Bronchoscopes). Enters data for department billing. Performs EKGs for in-patients and out-patients of all ages (neonate to geriatric). Is responsible for the processing, filing and maintaining of EKG reports.

This individual will be an important member of the Genitourinary (GU) Multidisciplinary Team at the cancer center. The position requires the ability to perform complex GU procedures including robotic, laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgeries for prostate/kidney/bladder disease and be a member of a complex pelvic/abdominal surgery team at SJHMC. As a part of the Utilization Management team the Utilization Review RN is a member of the Care Coordination team. The goal of care coordination is to assist in managing care, cost, and outcomes across the continuum of patient care as it relates to acute inpatient stay and post-acute facility stay. The Utilization Review RN Coordinates continuing care/outside services for value based risk members (HMO members) in collaboration with the hospital and primary care physician. The Utilization Review RN is responsible to repatriate stable members from nonmember facilities in the emergency department and inpatient setting. This role monitors the patients in Skilled Nursing Facilities and out of network admissions using InterQual and makes assessments regarding appropriate lengths of stay. The process also involves screening for appropriateness of care and talking to the outside physicians to establish stability to and appropriateness of transfer. The Utilization Review RN coordinates and promotes an appropriate post-hospitalization treatment plan and evaluates effectiveness. The position possesses proficient knowledge of evidenced based criteria such as Interqual to review for appropriate care. The implementation of sound clinical, fiscal, and operational strategies is critical to the continued delivery of quality services. Care coordination principles provide an opportunity to balance care with cost. The Utilization Review RN interacts with multiple disciplines to assure high quality, cost efficient care utilizing available resources for Dignity Health members.
