SUMMARY - Patient treatment planning, calculations of dose for radiation therapy. Calculates distribution of doses for Radiation Therapy treatments including IMRT using Corvus and Adac 3-D planning system for external beam treatments. Calculates plans for HDR and other brachytherapy procedures. Assists in orientation and training new dosimetrist(s) and radiation therapist(s). Provides support and problem solving with complex treatment set-ups to the Simulator/Lead Therapist. Assists physicists in data collection and quality checks. Assists physics team in quality improvement methodologies and measuring machine dose. Assists physicist in performing checks and calibrations on various radiation therapy equipment. Assists in logging patients/sources for incoming isotope shipments and monitors hot lab. Assists in instruction and training of Radiation Therapists in physics, dosimetry and related mathematics. Offers suggestions and assists the Radiation Oncologist for optimal treatment planning procedures and protocols.

About This Position
