Position Summary:   The Sterile Processing Supervisor is an experienced Certified Sterile Processing Leader or Certified Healthcare Leader (IAHCSMM) who functions as part of the perioperative leadership team. The Sterile Processing Supervisor's role is focused on leadership and management of daily operations in the sterile processing department. Daily operations includes but is not limited to: maintaining safe work and outcome practices; ensuring availability of necessary sterile equipment, instrumentation, and supplies to support effective patient throughput; efficient and effective staffing; promoting positive customer service results; delegation and assignment of duties within the department; maintaining productivity and budget within targeted parameters. In collaboration with and at the direction of the departmental manager, this position is accountable for: being a resource regarding standards of quality related to their field; maintaining quality standards to support patient safety and regulatory requirements; developing, maintaining, auditing, and correcting quality standards established for the department; development and implementation of adequate training of personnel; ensuring patient, employee, and physician satisfaction; and expediting resolution of conflicts. The Sterile Processing Supervisor reports directly to the Operating Room Manager and/or department director.   Minimum   - Five (5) to seven (7) years progressively responsible sterile processing; and/or Sterile processing leadership and clinical experience required. - Associates degree in Health care or business required. - Current BLS certification required.  - Current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required, OR Current Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required. - Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) required OR Certified Sterile Processing Management (CSPM) required within one year of hire. - RCST Technologist;CRCST ;CT CPRBLS required. - Knowledgeable in infection control, hazardous materials and waste application required. - Must be able demonstrate sound judgement in work processes and demonstrated ability to prioritize in a multi-task environment. - Requires demonstrated communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. - Experience in instrument tracking information systems, Microsoft Excel and Office required.    Preferred   - Progressive administrative and teaching responsibilities preferred - Surgical Technician clinical experience preferred.  - Health care or business related Baccalaureate degree preferred - Experience in regulatory survey readiness and corrective action planning preferred. - Knowledgeable in Dignity Health application systems: Cerner/Surginet, Lawson, GE Centricity Time Management, ECRI, iVos, etc. preferred. - CQI Knowledge of standards of JCAHO, CDC, EPA, AAMI, STATE, ETC is preferred. - Completion of allied health sterile processing education preferred.
