Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Resident services manager, the resident care aide performs resident care duties in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Mercy McMahon Terrace as well as its established policy and procedures.
Core Duties:
- Admits, transfers and assists in resident discharges.
- Assist residents with all ADL requirements. (including: Restroom/Bathing assistance, Bedmaking, tidying of unit, eating and comfort tasks.)
- Answer emergency call signals.
- Regular rounds.
- Monitor residents for pulse, temp, BP, and respiration vitals.
- Monitor residents remaining in unites for temporary illnesses (such as cold/Flu).
- Observes, reports, documents any changes noted with resident to RSM and/or director on duty.

About This Position
The Oncology Program Nurse is responsible for the implementation of a wide variety of Cancer Center activities and projects. Additionally, this position provides support for all cancer care activities in the Marian Cancer Program. Acts as a primary resource for education, personal counseling, advocacy, and problem solving for any patient, family member, or staff member, that requests assistance. Upholds and applies standards established by the American College of Surgeons to ensure continued accreditation as a Community Cancer Center.
Utilizes concepts derived from management and communications theory, group dynamics, and counseling methodologies in creating and facilitating programs and projects assigned by the Program Coordinator. These projects may include a variety of therapeutic cancer support groups, professional and community educational presentations (multi-media), a comprehensive Cancer Center Newsletter, Community Events (Cancer Screenings, Survivors Day, etc.). Supports quality care by participating and supporting utilization review and quality improvement activities. In the absence of the Oncology Program Manager, provides leadership, and management oversight of the Cancer Center personnel.
Due to the nature of the position, the duty hours are variable and occasionally include evening and weekend hours. Physical Therapist I/II independently performs assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic care for patients with overt and covert needs and/or complications of treatment, for the adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patient with focus on functional mobility and rehabilitation. Position Responsibilities: The PT is knowledgeable regarding the services provided by the agency, the principles of homecare and the patient population served by the agency. The PT is knowledgeable regarding Title 22 regulations, Medicare Conditions of Participation and Joint Commission standards. PTs must be able to effectively apply critical thinking and therapy skills to a wide range of medical and surgical patients independently in the home (under minimal office supervision). PTs must be able to identify and apply therapy care and treatments appropriate to the specific patient age groups served. The PT is proficient in using the OASIS Assessment tool for initial and on-going patient evaluations.
