- Must successfully pass a pre-employment ICD-10CM coding assessment.
- Demonstrates ability to accurately Code and Abstract records using ICD-10-CM and CPT coding conventions.
- Demonstrates ability to work efficiently and effectively to maintain minimum coding productivity standards.
- Reviews and validates all charges and CPT codes prior to finalizing the abstract for billing.
- Reviews and validates or deletes, all codes suggested by the computer assisted coding application.
- Determines that the final diagnoses and procedures stated by the physician and other providers are valid and complete.
- Follows the physician query process on any cases requiring clarification of a diagnosis, or to address any documentation discrepancies.
- Participates in all mandatory training and in-services.
- Maintains necessary credentials and continuing education requirements to remain current on all new coding regulations and guidelines.

About This Position

Captures, defines, and prioritizes pre and post implementation issues. Reports and participates in the problem solving of issues both locally and at enterprise impact level. Coordinates the collection and reporting of metrics defining benefits realization, and return on investment associated with Patient BusinessSystems. Insures, through delegation and management skill, investigational protocol compliance relative to data collection. The Business Informaticist reports locally but is also accountable to the VP for Enterprise EHR Alliance Program.Experience in a Patient Business Systems leadership level position at a health care institution of similar size and complexity. Must be knowledgeable of new trends in medical billing, medical coding, and informations systems. Be able to apply data processing technology for the Business Office, Admitting and Health Information Management services areas. Must have a thorough knowledge of Meditech 6.0 and Patient Business System practices and principles.

The Open Heart Surgical Technician assists the Surgical Team in providing high quality health care to the patient that requires surgical intervention. He/she applies basic knowledge of aseptic technique, principles of sterilization and understanding of the purpose and use of instruments. Possess specialized training , technical competence, and knowledge related to cardiac surgery. Ability to scrub in other surgical specialties.
