Position Summary: In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy, the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) manages quality patient care through the nursing process. Coordinates the plan of care with the health care team. Assumes a visible leadership role in the unit. Responsible for facilitating a work environment that values professional nursing practice, support autonomy, encourages collaborative relationships and promotes communications up and down the corporate chain of command. Responsible for overseeing the completion of unit competency assessments, annual safety reviews, CPR license renewals, and maintaining continuing education as required by hospital policy. In addition to these responsibilities, the ANM may be assigned other duties of an administrative nature. Demonstrates ability to work within a team model of patient-care delivery. Demonstrates proficient basic nursing skills and specialty skills. Demonstrates knowledge of the nursing process and the ability to apply these principles appropriately.
