Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Nurse Manager of Cardiology and Radiology Services, the Cardiac Exercise Specialist set up and operates various types of equipment utilized in the treatment/ rehabilitation of cardiac disease and or illness. Works with the Cardiac Rehabilitation RN to perform the treatment plans and present the results of the test to the cardiologist and/or attending physician. The Cardiac Exercise Specialist is also responsible for clerical, communication, and organizational duties related to the function of the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. This individual must display the highest level of skill and experience attainable within his/her assigned facility.

Mercy Hospital of Folsom, a member of Dignity Health, is currently looking for a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist to join their hospital staff. The position demonstrates competency in physical therapy/occupational therapy for pediatric, adult, and/or geriatric patients. The Physical Therapist provides patient assessments, develops and implements individual patient treatment programs, provides therapeutic interventions utilizing current and effective methodologies, and maintains effective documentation.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist is preferred.
- Candidates must have a current California Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist License
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.

May have specialty certification in occupational therapy field such as NDT, orthopedics, etc. or be trained to perform videofluroscopies.
Our Occupational Therapist are eligible for a weekend differential of $10.00 more per hour after you have worked one weekend day in the month.

About This Position:
Actively provides Occupational Therapy services to patients/residents, including evaluation and assessment, treatment program planning and implementation, related documentation and communication. Completes the duties of a California licensed Occupational Therapist in compliance to California licensing standards and within the scope of clinical skills required for the patient population being treated and as determined by patient age and diagnosis. Performs the clinical duties of patient evaluation, care planning, treatment intervention, patient/family education, and discharge planning within occupational therapist clinical practice standards. Reports directly to the Rehabilitation Department Manager. Assists in process improvement and other department operations as requested by the department Manager. This person must implement the spirit and philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy and will ensure that the rights of the patient and/or family are safeguarded (by observation and documentation. Entry level accepted.Individuals working in the NICU, one year pediatric experience is required. 1 year of Hospital based, acute care practice. RG OT License Completed post Graduate education, or posesses certification or CEU's in Acute care, geriatrics, splinting, hand therapy, orthopaedics, pediatrics, NICU & neurology or any other clinically relevant coursework/seminars. Current California Occupational Therapy license; Current BLS certification. Individuals working in NICU with Pediatric patients will be required to work under the supervision of a CCS Paneled Therapist. CCS Paneling for the 0-21 population Basic skills of a Occupational Therapist; Must have the ability to read, write, speak and effectively communicate in English. Ability to perform basic computer functions. Advanced experience with Computer software programs and clinical documentation in Hospital based practice, Multi-Lingual, Spanish, Tagalog. Registered Occupational Therapist and CPR required.
The Staff Occupational Therapist, a registered professional working under the guidelines from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy administrates patient care through evaluation, program planning, assessment and reassessment, establishment of goals and treatment programs, patient and family education, discharge planning and supervision of affiliate and support personnel.
The Staff Occupational Therapist assists the Director in the accomplishment of the Business, Mission and Quality Objectives of Rehabilitation Services and of St. Bernardine Medical Center, Community Hospital of San Bernardino and Catholic Healthcare West. The Staff Occupational Therapist is involved in the scope of services for inpatients and outpatients, such as, Neurology, Orthopedics, Oncology, Cardiology, Medical Surgical, Skilled Nursing.
