The Wound Care Nurse is a skilled and experienced professional Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for the development, coordination, intervention, and monitoring of the St. Bernardine's Wound Care Program. The Wound Care Nurse provides expert direction and support, establishes standards of care and clinical competencies to meet patient needs, and training to ensure quality clinical care. The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for quality initiatives and compliance. The wound care nurse works collaboratively with the medical staff, and provides education to patients, caregivers and staff on wound, ostomy and continence care. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of St. Bernardine's Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support St. Bernardine's Medical Center strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement process and activities.
