SUMMARY - Patient treatment planning, calculations of dose for radiation therapy. Calculates distribution of doses for Radiation Therapy treatments including 3D, IMRT, SRS and SBRT. Assists in set up, simulation and planning treatment. Provides support and problem solving with complex treatment set-ups to the simulation therapist. Offers suggestions and assists the Radiation Oncologist for optimal treatment planning procedures and protocols.
Facility and Equipment:
We are a full-scale Varian site equipped with 3 Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators, Gamma Knife, CyberKnife, ZAP-X, microSelectron HDR, and Flexitron HDR. Two Philips Big Bore CT scanners are located within the departments, and multiple MRI and PET/CT scanners across the facilities are used for treatment planning. We utilize Eclipse, Oncentra, Multiplan, and other planning systems for external beam, HDR, and stereotactic radiosurgery treatments. ARIA is
our primary R&V system. We are involved with many institutional and national research protocols.
The candidate will be joining a team of four dosimetrists and six physicists. The physics/dosimetry team serves St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center at Dignity Health, the internationally-renowned Barrow Neurological Institute (ranked Top 20 in the USA, located at the same campus), and a downtown cancer center campus located two miles away.
MINIMIUM
Bachelor's Degree
Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) required within 1 year of employment
PREFERRED
4 years experience as a Certified Dosimetrist
Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) and Certified Registered Technologist in Therapy (RTT) preferred
Experience with Eclipse, IMRT/VMAT, SBRT/SRS, and/or HDR planning is preferred.
Graduation from an accredited program in medical dosimetry is an asset.
