Northridge Hospital Medical Center
The NICU RCP is responsible to perform all therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care procedures ordered by the responsible physician; evaluates patients; maintains all required patient and department records; maintains and evaluates proper functioning of equipment when required; responsible for obtaining written physician orders pertaining to respiratory care; responsible for organizing and planning daily work assignments and notifying shift charge therapist of problems and missed procedures; maintains professional knowledge of current respiratory care practice and department policy and procedures; responsible to practice job duties in accordance with department /Medical Center policy and procedure and the Respiratory Care Standards of Practice.  The NICU RCP functions as primary NICU therapist.



  • Must be an NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of two years working experience as an RCP in NICU. 
  • Must who demonstrates sufficient knowledge and understanding of neonatal respiratory therapy and has documented competency in intubation.
  • Must have a current State of California Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
  • Basic Life Support
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • Must maintain current Fire Safety card.

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
