    Responsibilities

    SUMMARY - Performs all associated tasks involving radiation physics, radiation machine calibrations, treatment planning, dosimetry calculations, brachytherapy and machine functions.

     

    St Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is currently seeking a physicist for full-time employment. Our ideal candidate will be a graduate of a CAMPEP-accredited program and ABR certified or board eligible, with self-motivation and flexibility due to our wide range of practices. Experience with radiopharmaceuticals, brachytherapy (HDR and LDR), IMRT/VMAT, SBRT, Eclipse/ARIA, and TrueBeam is preferred. The candidate will be joining a experienced group of 5 physicists and four dosimetrists with a strong team-based culture and collaborative environment.

     

    Equipment and Procedures:

    We are equipped with 3 Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators with VisionRT, Gamma Knife, CyberKnife, Zap-X, microSelectron HDR, and Flexitron HDR.  Two Phillips Brilliance Big Bore CT scanners are located within the department. Several MRI units and PET scanners are used for treatment planning. We utilize Eclipse v15.6, Oncentra, Precision VOLO, Velocity, GammaPlan, and other planning systems for external beam radiotherapy, HDR, and stereotactic radiosurgery treatments.  Our QA equipment/software is extensive and consists of Mobius, DoseLab, PipsPro, ClearCheck, Sun Nuclear (ArcCheck, IC Profiler, MapCheck), Blue Phantom 2, RadCalc, and MUCheck among others.  We have an active radiopharmaceutical program including I-131, Ra-223, and Lu-177. We have an existing Cs-131 LDR program, and Pd-103 (CivaSheet) will be added soon.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM

    Masters degree in radiation physics or related field
    Two years of clinical medical physics experience

    ABR/ACMP Certification or board eligible
