The Manfredsson laboratory focuses on gene therapy of the nervous system and in the development of treatments for Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders. The laboratory is looking for an entry level technician to be a member of the research team. As a member of the laboratory you will play an
important role in day-to-day operations. Duties include preparation of solutions such as buffers and media, preparation and maintenance of cell culture. Assist with handling pre-clinical models, behavioral testing, and survival surgery. Post-mortem histological processing and microscopic analysis. Assist with basic
cloning and molecular assays. Applicant must be familiar with basic laboratory concepts including calculating concentrations and preparing solutions, aseptic technique. Proficiency in basic computer, mathematical, scientific, reasoning, and oral and written communication skills as appropriate is required.
Applicant familiarity and prior experience with a laboratory setting is a plus.
Experience as an intern or student research technician is preferred.
Must have excellent math skills and fundamental knowledge and background in the biological sciences.
