California Behavioral Health Clinic, located at California Hospital Medical Center provides outpatient mental health evaluations, diagnosis and treatment for children 0–21 years old and their families. Funding is provided by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.  Services provided include the following:

  • Individual, family collateral and group therapy
  • Assistance in accessing medical, educational, social and financial resources
  • Community referrals to after-school programs
  • Coordination of treatment services
  • Medication evaluations by Child Psychiatrist
  • Psychological assessmentsbehavioralhealth

Position Summary: 

The Clinical Supervisor provides administrative and clinical supervision for staff and interns; direct clinical services; and assistance with overall program planning and development activities. This position will require flexibility and collaborative team work with respect to responsibilities as the program evolves.CSWlinical Supervisor, Behavorial Health, Mental Health, Children, Families, Social Work, Therapist, Licensed Therapist)





Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW),  MA, PsyD or PhD
  • Experience working with children and families.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist, (PsyD or PhD)
  • Knowledge of DMH paperwork requirements
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license and ability to make home visits to various Los Angeles County locations


  • Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team. 
  • Ability to assess and clinically intervene with families across a broad spectrum of areas. 
  • Experience working with low-income families and families from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. 
  • Empathy, warmth, and the ability to establish ongoing supportive relationships. 
  • Knowledge of the agencies in the Pico-Union and downtown Los Angeles areas that serve low-income families. 
  • Knowledge of child abuse indicators, service delivery systems, and reporting laws. 
  • Knowledge of child welfare theory, standards, and best practice models. 
  • Familiarity with the effects of domestic violence and parental alcohol and/or other drug abuse on family health, parenting, and general functioning. 
  • Demonstrated supervisory, mentoring, and coaching skills. 
  • Experience in making home visits to low-income families. 
  • Skill in organizing and maintaining accurate records. 
  • Skill in writing to articulate concepts and ideas in notes and reports. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking skills preferred.
