Responsibilities

 

The Barrow Neuroimaging Innovation Center seeks a highly motivated student technician who is interested in neuroimage analysis. Projects in the lab involve developing next-generation non-invasive imaging biomarkers applicable to cancer and neurologic disorders. Ideal candidates will have experience with computer programming (e.g. Python, C) and/or image analysis software (Osirix, Freesurfer, FSL). The technician will leverage our high performance computing servers to implement a range of established image analysis algorithms for brain segmentation, dynamic imaging processing, biomarker quantification. Technician will also work with research faculty to maintain image databases, perform statistical analysis, and assist with manuscript preparation.

 

Functions as an undergraduate student (bachelor's or associate's degree candidate) assisting a laboratory head or clinical trials investigator in conduct of research. Knowledge of research, clinical, or other scientific environment required. Fundamental knowledge and background in the biological sciences or related field preferred.

Minimum Requirements

 

HS/GED required. Current enrollment in Undergraduate Program preferred. Preferred: Familiar with laboratory techniques. Demonstrates an ability to continually improve performance. Familiar with basic computer skills required. Familiar with advanced computer skills and with aptitude to learn proper laboratory or clinical study techniques preferred.

 

Knowledge of research, clinical, or other scientific environment required. Fundamental knowledge and background in the biological sciences or related field preferred.
