    Overview

    The purpose of Dignity Health Management Services Organization (Dignity Health MSO) is to build a system-wide integrated physician-centric, full-service management service organization structure. We offer a menu of management and business services that will leverage economies of scale across provider types and geographies and will lead the effort in developing Dignity Health’s Medicaid population health care management pathways. Dignity Health MSO is dedicated to providing quality managed care administrative and clinical services to medical groups, hospitals, health plans and employers with a business objective to excel in coordinating patient care in a manner that supports containing costs while continually improving quality of care and levels of service. Dignity Health MSO accomplishes this by capitalizing on industry-leading technology and integrated administrative systems powered by local human resources that put patient care first.

    RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISION

    REPORTS TO: ACN Executive Director, Network and Population Health Strategies.

    SUPERVISES: Network Development Associates.

    CONTACTS: Local participating physicians and administrators, MedProVidex and ACN Leadership and staff.

     

    Responsibilities

    The Arizona Care Network (ACN) is a clinically integrated physician network is a Dignity Health and Abrazo Health physician collaboration.  The Quality Data Abstractor is an employee of Dignity Health Management Services Organization (Dignity Health MSO).

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Assesses and addresses adequacy needs in the ACN participating provider network, for all provider types.
    • Responsible maintenance and accuracy of provider data, for all geographic regions defined as the provider network.
    • Works with the Executive Director to strategize and prioritize provider recruitment activities.
    • Facilitates enrollment of physicians through to execution of provider contracts.
    • Responsible for direct recruitment and contract negotiation for ancillary provider types.
    • Understands provider health care delivery systems both large and small, and is able to implement and perform complex contracting strategies and negotiations.
    • Develops and maintains positive, mutually successful relationships with potential and existing network providers and their key administrators.
    • Able to identify synergy between ACN and potential new providers, and effectively fosters these new provider relationships.
    • Facilitates and promotes problem identification, analysis, and resolution for all provider complaints by maintaining communications with MPV support staff training in provider offices.
    • Effectively promotes and conveys the concept of ACN’s Care System Design of full integration of medical, behavioral health and long-term care services to new providers.
    • Directly negotiates provider agreements, with an emphasis on ancillary provider types. 
    • Provides regular feedback to Executive Director of progress of contract negotiations and network adequacy.
    • Conducts an annual effectiveness review of all provider satisfaction initiatives.
    • Effectively and professionally represents ACN with providers and provider organizations.
    • Documents and tracks physicians/medical group contacts in the Physician Relationship Management Tool com.
    • Able to understand and set priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and design work plans to track progress, resolve issues, and efficiently and effectively see tasks to completion.
    • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Self-directed, seeking guidance when appropriate.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    • EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years’ experience in provider relations and network development in a health care or managed care setting required.  Must have significant experience in building and negotiating provider networks for all provider types.  Strong emphasis on strategic planning and direct contract negotiation. 
    • EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Bachelor degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
    • LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION: None
    • SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:  Demonstrated skills in the areas of written and verbal communication, judgment, problem-solving, presentation and public relations.  Must have significant experience directly negotiating provider agreements, with an emphasis on ancillary provider types.
    • OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a dynamic and highly motivated person with exceptional customer service, relationship management and interpersonal skills. Strong negotiating and group presentation skills Results driven, able to self direct and work independently, as well as perform in a team environment. Position will require automobile travel.

    Physical Requirements:

    Position requires ability to sit for extended periods of time while working on computer, talking on the phone and performing most work duties.  Must be able to attend meetings, collect documents from printer/copier, and carry files.  Must be able to use hands and fingers to enter data into computer, dial telephone, grasp files and reports.  Must be able to lift and carry up to 5 pounds to transport files, reports and office supplies.  Must be able to talk and hear to converse in person and on the telephone.  Requires close up vision to read and work on computer, ability to adjust focus when changing tasks and peripheral vision while ambulating around the building.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.
