Overview

Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center is seeking a Board Certified Hematologist and Medical Oncologist to join our multidisciplinary Genitourinary and Gastrointestinal Program. Our goal is to create and sustain a best-in-class cancer treatment and research program that produces good outcomes for patients, is efficient and effective, respects and includes our community partners and creates a desirable work place for staff and faculty.  We have seven active multidisciplinary disease teams, each including medical, surgical, radiation, radiology, pathology, genetics and supportive care experts and are in the process of expanding our Cellular Therapy Program.   Building a robust clinical practice, providing direct patient care, and participating in translational research are key responsibilities of this position.  The multidisciplinary teams work closely with the leadership of the Oncology Service Line and St. Joseph’s to ensure the growth of the comprehensive patient care programs as well as the implementation and growth of the translational and clinical trials programs.

This physician will report to the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Oncology Physician Services and work collaboratively and effectively with the disease-site oncology multidisciplinary teams, hospitalists, the VP, Oncology Services, administrative team members, and all other staff who support cancer patients and cancer services in the outpatient and inpatient settings.

St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Dignity Health, and a member of CommonSpirit Health, the largest not-for-profit health system in the US.  We are extremely proud to be a nationally recognized center for quality tertiary care, medical education and research. St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center also includes the internationally renowned Barrow Neurological Institute, St. Joseph's Heart & Lung Institute, and St. Joseph's Level I Trauma Center (which is verified by the American College of Surgeons). The hospital is also a respected center for high-risk obstetrics, neuro rehabilitation, orthopedics, and other medical services.

We offer unique opportunities to build best-in-class patient care programs by combining the academic strengths of Creighton University and the University of Arizona Comprehensive Cancer Center (UACC) with the outstanding care provided by St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center, the flagship hospital of Dignity Health, and now a member of CommonSpirit Health (the largest not-for-profit health care company in the Country).  The City of Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the country and one of the fastest growing since 2016.  We are known for our wonderful climate and many outdoor and indoor recreational activities.  The Benign Hematology team will work closely with the leadership of both Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Malignant Hematology Program at the Cancer Center to ensure the growth of the comprehensive patient care programs as well as the implementation and growth of the translational and clinical trials programs.

We offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefit package that includes a relocation allowance.
