    The RN Coordinator for Quality Management is responsible for supporting a variety of activities and functions of Woodland Healthcare’s (WHC) Quality departments in both the acute and clinic settings.  This position supports the Director of Quality/Risk Management.  This position conducts activities with the goal of maintaining quality patient care, reducing cost, and alignment of work processes to achieve Dignity Health goals and initiatives. 


    The RN Coordinator for Quality Management abstracts, aggregates, analyzes, develops and implements action plans for Quality/Performance Improvement activities in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.  This includes providing clinical review, presentation and oversight for the Medical Staff peer review process; conducting in depth clinical focused studies, clinical reviews and root cause analysis, preparing a variety of quality reporting, participating in and serving is a resource to staff and physicians at all levels of the organization. 


    The functions and programs must be conducted in an efficient and cost-effective manner to ensure adequate coordination of care and clinical resource Management, including discharge planning, quality improvement and regulatory compliance.




    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of California.  BS in Nursing or Health Care Administration preferred.  Minimum three (3) years healthcare experience and previous experience in QA/PI.  Must be knowledgeable in: quality management, outcomes, and performance improvement techniques.   Must have knowledge of State, Federal, and Joint Commission regulations, concepts of QI and performance improvement, statistics and data analysis, patient relations, policy/procedures integration of risk management and quality activities.


    Management theories and practices, Principles of Healthcare Quality, InterQual®, third party reimbursement including Managed Care Plans, Medicare, Medi-Cal, County Indigent Medical Programs.  Insurance contracts and programs, basic knowledge of statistical analysis, information systems, PC applications and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. 


    Ability to develop teams, to motivate others to change, effectively function in a matrix management model, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departments and individuals, to plan and accomplish objectives, to effectively prioritize work projects and work independently.  Effective written and verbal communication skills, analytic and problem solving ability, understand healthcare cost data.
