    Responsibilities

    Assess patient/family health problems and resources, taking a leadership role in the development, implementation and outcomes evaluation of a plan for nursing care. Provides professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates to assist the breastfeeding mother to attain her individual goals. Serves as a member of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team as a consultant, educator, and mentor to nurses, healthcare professionals, and patients. May also fulfill nursing duties as needed.

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

     

    One (1) year experience in Maternal Child Health. One (1) year experience as lactation consultant in a health care setting (outpatient clinic or hospital). One (1) year experience teaching breastfeeding classes and/or facilitating peer breastfeeding support groups.
