    Position Summary:


    Under the direction of the Director of Perioperative Services, this individual will manage the 24-hour operations of Central Sterile Processing. This individual will ensure for the provision of the highest quality sterilsterilization/high-level disinfection of surgical instrumentation, supplies and equipment and also assures compliance with regulatory and professional agencies, including but not limited to Joint Commission and CMS, requirements and all other pertinent regulations, including AAMI, APIC and AORN recommended practices. Serves as subject matter expert and resource for reprocessing needs throughout the facility. The individual plans, organizes and directs the Central Sterilization Processing Department. The position reviews, evaluates and approves all contracts, appropriations and expenditure requests submitted by department personnel as well as develops, implements, and monitors departmental policies and procedures. Recommends equipment changes, upgrades and additions to meet manufacturer's instructions for use (IFU) for all items processed. The individual ensures ongoing staff development and competencies of central sterile processing technicians and staff, manages and resolves human resource and labor relation issues, and employee and department safety and risk management issues.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2 years managing a central processing operation. 
    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, Excel, Microsoft Word, Power point and Outlook.
    • Sterile Processing Technician certification and/or Sterile Processing Manager certification
    • Certified Central Service Certification and BLS required.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5 years managing an acute-care central processing operation preferred.
    • Bachelor's Degree in business, manufacturing, health care administration, public health, or health sciences required.
    • One (1) year or more of supervisory experience in a union environment preferred
