The Dietetic Technician functions as a member of the nutrition team, obtains diet histories from patients, collects assessment data, assists patients with their menu selection according to diet prescription, provides nutrition information to assigned individuals in uncomplicated situations, calculate nutrient intakes, reports findings to the dietitian and assists in the supervision of food service. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Community Hospital of San Bernardino. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support Community Hospital of San Bernardino strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement, process, and activities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Dietetic Technician in an acute care hospital is preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: AA, AS Degree with completion of approved training program for dietetic technicians and registration by the Acadamy of Nutrition and dietetics (AND).
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS: Registered Dietetic Technician (or proof of eligibility for) by the commission on dietetic registration of the Acadamy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
