    Position Summary:
    Bring your passion for oncology patient care to our mission to prevent and cure cancer. As an Oncology Pharmacist, Manager you will be part of a growing program on the forefront of Cancer Treatment. We are looking for someone that is a great communicator, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to problem solve through critical thinking.
    Oncology Pharmacy Manager, ensure safety in compounding, preparing, and dispensing chemotherapy. They are responsible for minimizing drug waste, managing drug shortages, and decreasing exposure to hazardous drugs. Pharmacy Manager is viewed as medication experts who focus their time on providing direct patient care, offering patient education, and participating in clinical decision making. The Pharmacy Manager will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, social workers and navigators, and other members of the Oncology team. Review and create care guidelines, and utilize a radiation/oncology electronic medical record system (OncoEMR) to assist with appropriate drug therapy selection, management, and monitoring.
    Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with the California State Board of Pharmacy, California Department of Public Health, The Joint Commission, USP <797> and USP <800>.
    Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
    • Provides direction and supportive resources regarding day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department to reduce harm to patients and improve patient outcomes. Assures departmental competency and compliance to all regulatory, accreditation and hospital standards of care.
    • Implements a service culture based on the principles of continuous quality Improvement. Creates structures and processes that assure cost effective and safe utilization of drug supplies and pharmacy staff time.
    • Implements and administers fiscal operations, including accounting, planning budgets, authorizing expenditures and reviewing and responding to financial report data.
    • Provides expert pharmaceutical care assistance to colleagues regarding integrated health care delivery network.


    Education and Experience: 
    • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is required. Advanced or Master's degree preferred (e.g., Phar.D. degree from accredited School of Pharmacy)
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Pharmacist in an acute care setting. Minimum of two (2) years of pharmacy leadership experience.
    • Oncology Board Certification preferred
    • Registered Pharmacist license in California. Oversight for an acute care facility requires licensure in the state in which you practice.
