    Responsibilities

    Position Summary:  

     

    Under the general direction of the Revenue Integrity Manager, the role of the auditor is to audit charges on bills providing a check and balance system for patient appeals, grievances and reconsideration for denied payments. This position will work closely with various departments to verify services provided and total billed charges on all types of audits. Communicate all audit findings with the necessary parties and work closely with external auditors to obtain resolution of disputes.

     

    • Types of audits include: Managed Care Defense, Patient Request and other special request audits.

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:  

     

    • Three (3) years clinical work experience with (3) or more years of clinical auditing.  
    • Licensure from a recognized one-year practical nurse program or other clinical technical licensure (Medical Assistant, Radiology Technician, Pharmacy Technician, etc.) OR three (3) plus years of clinical charge audit experience.    
    • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage work accurately and timely.
    • Willingness to travel to other work settings essential.
    • Able to handle confidential information.
    • Must have ability to read and analyze data for specific audience.
    • Must be familiar and have a working knowledge of multiple computer programs: EXCEL, word processing, electronic charts.
    • The ability to extract data from computer programs is essential.
