    Position Summary:



    Support the business and customer’s control objectives and requirements

    Support efficient and effective Service Management processes by providing accurate configuration information to enable people to make decisions at the right time, e.g. to authorize change and releases, resolve incidents and problems faster.

    Minimize the number of quality and compliance issues caused by improper configuration of services and assets

    Optimize the service assets, IT configurations, capabilities and resources


    Supporting Process Owner and Process Lead in the creation of policy, process description and procedures.

    Assisting in defining the structure of the configuration management system, including CI types, naming conventions, required and optional attributes and relationships.

    Assisting in training staff in configuration management principles, processes and procedures.

    Controlling the receipt, identification, storage, and withdrawal of all supported CIs.

    Maintaining status information on CIs and providing it as required.

    Assisting in performing configuration audits.


    Configuration Control Activity:


    For new CI requests, validate that the proposed CI attributes meet the requirements of configuration management as defined in the configuration management plan.

    For approved requests on updating CI attributes, update the CMDB.

    For CI attributes that fail to meet the configuration management plan criteria, reject the request and inform the CI owner with proper instructions.

    Maintain the CMDB validating / completing all scheduled maintenance activities and the quality of the data.


    Configuration Status Accounting and Reporting Activity:

    For existing reports, maintain distribution schedule as required.

    For valid requests, create new configuration report or gauge as requested.


    Configuration Verification and Audit Activity:

    Depending on the scope of the verification or audit request, perform an audit via physical inspection or discovery.

    Review the compiled results from the audit and compare with CI record information found in the production CMDB.

    If discrepancies exist between the information contained in the CMDB and the actual CI(s), determine (under direction from Process Lead) which action to be taken:

    Update the CMDB to reflect what was verified in the infrastructure

    Change the CI to match the information in the CMDB The task of correction is passed to the CI Owner

    If determined, update the CMDB for the CI record to match the ‘as is’ CI configuration in the infrastructure.



    Minimum Qualifications:


    3+ years’ IT Service Management – Production Control (or related field) experience

    3+ years of experience with Service Management tools

    3-7 years of experience in Configuration Management

    Experience in an IT role supporting healthcare or hospital/medical industry preferred

    Experience in a large corporate environment preferred

    Bachelor’s Degree in business or science or another related field (s) of study such as Management Information Systems, or equivalent or related experience

    IT professional certifications in: ITIL, COBIT or other related certifications


    Preferred Qualifications:


    Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, auditors and consultants

    Attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to follow established processes

    Ability to interact and build strong relationships at peer level

    Aptitude for learning new applications and technology

    Good analytical and problem-solving skills

    Ability to work in a complex matrixed team environment

    Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

    Experience in developing and deploying best practices, policies, procedures, and processes

    Intermediate knowledge/skill in SharePoint

    Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
