    Responsibilities

    Position Summary - 340B Program Specialist

    The 340B Program enables covered entities to stretch scarce Federal resources as far as possible, reaching more eligible patients and providing more comprehensive services. To participate in the 340B Program, eligible organizations/covered entities must register and be enrolled with the 340B program and comply with all 340B Program requirements.

     

    The 340B program specialist will report to the 340B Program Manager. They will work closely with the Pharmacy Team in Patient Care Services and 340B facilities in the enterprise. This role will serve as a specialist of the 340B program ensuring optimization, integrity and regulatory compliance within Dignity Health. 

     

    Core Duties: 

    • Communicates timely with both internal and external sources concerning the 340B program by providing expert information and assistance to various affected parties
    • Ensure all facilities are benefiting from the 340B program by analyzing reports and identifying opportunities
    • Monitor and facilitate the integrity and compliance of the 340B program, provide guidance on improvements/solutions and assist in the continual monitoring
    • Conduct program audits, provide recommendations and assist in identifying areas of improved efficiency
    • Assist in the development, implementation, education and promotion of resources/tools to support the 340B facilities
    • Supports Pharmacy Patient Care Services team as assigned

    Specific Knowledge: 

    • Microsoft Applications (Ie. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
    • Local, state and federal regulations relating to pharmaceutical transactions
    • Operational knowledge of inpatient, and outpatient pharmacy practice and distributions
    • Knowledge of drug utilization review, quality improvement techniques, and pharmacy automation

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: 

    • Typical work activities will take place in an office or travel to a hospital
    • The job requires an employee to sit for long periods of time working at a computer and communication using a telephone.

    Reporting Relationship: 

    • Reports to the 340B Pharmacy Manager

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Experience

    Minimum Required:

    • Certified Pharmacy Technician with 3-5 years’ experience OR
    • Bachelor’s Degree 

    Education

    • Minimum Required:A High School Degree 
    • Preferred/Desired:Bachelor level degree

    Licensure

    • Certified Pharmacy Technician

    Travel

    • Required 20%
