    Mercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region.  Mercy Medical Center Redding is an award-winning 267-bed regional medical center providing inpatient and outpatient services as well as specialized cardiovascular care, stroke care, orthopedics, neurological surgery, comprehensive cancer care, maternity care, and da Vinci robotic surgery.  It is one of only two Level II trauma centers north of Sacramento and houses the only Level II neonatal ICU in Shasta County.

    Position Summary:


    Directs the provision of nursing care in a business unit while maintaining standards of patient care.


    Core Duties:

    • Responsible for the overall quality of care provided by the nursing personnel
    • Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies
    • Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups
    • Monitors the operations of the nursing staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices
    • Schedules staff and conducts employee performance reviews
    • Provides nursing care to patients on an as needed basis

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g. MSN/MBA/MHA)
    • Registered Nursing License (RN)
    • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and two (2) years of leadership experience
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Director for 3-5 years at a similar size facility or larger
    • Experience at a facility designated as a Level II Trauma Center
    • Experience as an RN or leader in Critical Care or Cardiac Telemetry
    • Familiarly with Press Ganey or Studer patient experience improvement solutions
    • Able to demonstrate experience with improving patient safety outcomes
    • Complex understanding of the nursing director role
    • ACLS certification
