    Position Summary:
    The Infection Preventionist coordinates all infection prevention related activities associated with surveillance, performance improvement , and education which are intended to ensure that the facility's patients, personnel & visitors will be protected from transmission of diseases & infection within the facility's environment as identified in the core competency model by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC). The incumbent is also responsible for oversight of facility compliance with TJC Hospital Accreditation Standards, State and CMS regulations, and for the daily operations of the Infection Prevention Department. This position reports to the Senior Director Quality and Performance Excellence.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Three (3) years Managerial/Director experience in healthcare and board certification
    • Baccalaureate degree in nursing or a healthcare related field, or a combination of 3 years of Managerial/Director experience in healthcare and Board Certification 5 years can be used for qualification in lieu of bachelor degree
    • Board Certification in Infection Prevention and Control
    • Knowledge of Epidemiology, research techniques & infection disease
    • Data synthesis/analysis and advanced statistical analysis and statistical process control
    • Principles of continuous quality improvement
    • Legal and regulatory requirements governing infection control and healthcare facilities
    • Intermediate to advanced level computer operational skills
     Preferred Qualifications:
    • A minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an Infection Preventionist in an acute care setting in a large complex organization preferred
    • A Master's degree in a health care related field
