    Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital has been serving the Sacramento community for more than 100 years. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy General has been at its current site in the heart of East Sacramento since 1925. Mercy General Hospital has 342 licensed beds, a physician staff of more than 800 and is the highest volume cardiac procedure hospital in California. Mercy General is one of six Sacramento area hospitals that are part of Dignity Health, a system of 39 hospitals and medical centers in California, Arizona and Nevada.

    Responsibilities

    Performs Echocardiograms, Stress Tests, TEE's, EKG's and other available diagnostic cardiac procedures. This position works closely with department management, assisting with planning, organization, and coordination of the cardiac services within the department.

    Qualifications

    This position requires at least 2 years experience as Echo Program Coordinator or like position and 2 years College education or completion of an accredited echocardiography program, including experience in adult and pediatric echocardiographic and Doppler technology.  Special skills required for this position include:  ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship with a wide variety of hospital personnel; act courteously and with tact in dealing with patients, visitors and the public; explain procedures to patients; maintain patient confidentiality; follow established policies and procedures; work effectively under stress and adjusts priorities as required; organize work assignments; maintain accurate and complete records; maintain a high degree of accuracy regarding all details; remain calm and reassure distressed patients; work under minimal supervision; respond effectively in emergency situations; read and comprehend technical instructions; have effective oral and written communications skills.  Candidates must also have a registered CA ARDMS.
