    Position Summary:
    The Registered Nurse (RN) is defined as a professional who provides and supervises care to individuals and families. Utilizing a holistic approach the RN provides a safe and confidential environment throughout the delivery of care. As a professional, the RN is responsible for providing team leadership and maintaining professional development.
    Core Duties:
    • Assess patients� physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs considering diagnosis, age, care setting, desire for care and response to care plan
    • Plan care, collaborating with other members of the healthcare team
    • Deliver competent care as required by patient, plan of care, and care setting
    • Evaluate patients� responses to care
    • Provide interactive patient and family education
    • Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team
    • Document according to policy/procedure, standards, and guidelines
    • Participate in improving organizational performance



    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Current California RN license
    • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card
    • At least one year experience as an RN in a Critical Care unit
    • Current ACLS
    • Current CPI within 3 months of hire
    • Current PALS within 3 months of hire
    • Other certifications may be required
    • Must maintain current competencies and certifications required by the department
    • Ability to read, speak and write English in order to perform the duties of the position required
    • Requires:
      • Work a flexible schedule and be willing to work additional hours if needed for the provision of quality patient care
      • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all hospital staff.  Maintain patient confidentiality
      • Treat co-workers, physicians, patients, families, visitors, and the public with dignity and respect
      • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and precision on a consistent basis in the performance of nursing procedures
      • Work effectively under multiple demands and adjust priorities, as circumstance requires meeting nursing/staffing needs of the department
      • Ability to work as a team member to meet team goals and objectives
      • Demonstrates an understanding of Perianesthesia Nursing
