    Responsibilities

    Position Title: Director of Diagnostic Imaging

     

    Position Summary: 

    Participates in the planning and implementing of major facilities' construction/renovation projects to ensure the safe and effective placement of imaging equipment and efficient operations. Monitors staff performance and participates in the development of competencies, performance standards and imaging protocols for the department..

    • Directs the application of diagnostic imaging technology and regulatory standards.
    • Maintains policies, protocols and procedures to meet regulatory standards, ensuring equipment and procedures are safe, functional and capable of meeting the diagnostic needs.
    • Participates in the planning and implementing of major facilities' construction/renovation projects to ensure the safe and effective placement of imaging equipment and efficient operations.
    • Monitors staff performance and participates in the development of competencies, performance standards and imaging protocols for the department.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Knowledge of imaging techniques, processes and procedures used in diagnostics; ability to produce images of internal body structures for clinical purposes or medical science.
    • Knowledge of radiology and applicable laws and regulations governing proper materials storage, handling and disposal as well as radiology-related conduct; ability to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations.
    • Knowledge of and ability to manage radiology departmental operations to achieve high performance and reach quality goals.
    • Knowledge of radiation safety regulations, principles, techniques and nuclear materials handling; ability to practically apply this knowledge to resolve safety issues.

    Education and Experience: 

    • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of diagnostic imaging experience, three (3) years of which include experience managing/supervising diagnostic imaging services.
    • Education: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree or a combination of education and/or additional imaging-related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
    • Licensure: Certified technologist with current applicable state licensure. If the state in which you are applying offers no applicable state licensure, then corresponding registration in a national modality (ARRT or NMTCB or ARDMS) is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
