Position Summary: 

Responsibility for the operational objectives of the Central Sterile department at St. Bernardine Medical Center, to provide management and guidance in the preparation and sterilization of instrumentation and packs. To provide maintenance and surveillance over the cardio pulmonary resuscitation carts and equipment assembled and dispensed through the department.

Responsibilities also include but not limited to the sterilization quality assurance performed in the Outpatient Surgery Center and in the L/D department as well as other departments using hospital sterilized products. interacts with personnel and other departments within the framework of the philosophy and policies established by St. Bernardine Medical Center. Assumes responsibility for the interpretation and implementation of hospital policies, develops and implements all departmental policies and procedures.


This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of St. Bernardine Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will
demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support St. Bernardine Medical Center's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities.



  • 5 Years Acute Care Hospital Experience AND 3 Years
  • Managerial Experience directly related to Sterile Processing.
  • Operating Room Experience preferred.



  • Advanced Education a plus

Special Skills

  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
