We have an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced CT Technologist to work on the Barrow Emergency Stroke Treatment Unit (BESTU).  The CT Technologist will be responding to emergency calls. This position performs CT scans in the field on our state-of-the-art mobile stroke unit as part of an experienced and highly skilled Stroke Team.  This position requires working under emergency conditions, driving the mobile stroke unit and other duties exclusive to this position. 




Completion of approved American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or equivalent approved Radiologic Technologist Program
Medical Radiologic Technologist Board of Examiners (MRTBE)
ARRT (CT) certification
CTCT certifications
BLS (American Heart Association)
Additional requirements for Barrow Emergency Stroke Unit: Current valid AZ Driver's License with satisfactory DMV report on file.
    • Responsible for driving mobile stroke unit vehicle
    • Must complete the Phoenix Fire Department Drivers Training Course prior to completion of orientation
    • Work environment includes pre-hospital care setting and various weather situations
    • Work requires nights, holidays, weekends and public relations visits and presentations
    • The MSU CT Tech must be able to assist in the safe movement of the patient on a stretcher, loading into ambulance and must be physically able to move and about and work effectively in the confines of the MSU. 
    • Must have the ability to collaborate effectively with telemedicine physician and or neuroendovascular specialist
    • Acts as an educator to professional groups and EMS in our service area and promotes the Barrow Neurological Institute and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center as the leader in stroke care
    • Assists in collecting stroke data, participates in ongoing quality improvement process


Preferred Qualifications:

Three years of CT experience
