Overview

Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) at Chandler Regional Medical Center is actively seeking an experienced leader and visionary to serve as Program Director, General Surgery and Critical Care. Ideal candidates will have strong experience and a proven track record leading a Level 1 trauma program, will be board certified in general surgery and critical care, will have an unrestricted Arizona medical license and 10+ years of experience. This candidate will report directly to the Chair, Department of Surgery, DHMG.

 

Dignity Health Medical Group in partnership with Chandler Regional Medical Center (CRMC), an ACS-verified Level I trauma center in suburban Phoenix, is a team of five (5). Our team’s focus is driven around being leaders in education, centered on evidenced based medicine while ensuring consistent collaboration and communications within the team.

 

CRM evaluated 80,000 patients in the emergency department and 3,400 trauma patients last year, of which 11% suffered a penetrating mechanism. Our trauma center in on track to care for 3,600 patients this year. We are formally integrated with the William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) General Surgery Residency in El Paso, TX. In addition to general surgery resident coverage, we also have general surgery research residents year round as well as rotating family medicine residents and 24/7 ACNP and PA coverage. We have excellent subspecialty support, including Barrow Neurological Institute neurosurgeons and fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeons.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include day-to-day oversight of the department of General Surgery and Trauma at Chandler Regional Medical Center. This includes equitable schedule rotations for primary and back-up trauma and emergency general surgery call. Additionally, supporting DHMG clinical and administrative leadership in strategic development of the program is required.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • MD or DO Degree and Board Certification
  • Completed ACGME Residency training with current ABS Board Certification in General Surgery
  • Completed accredited Fellowship in Critical Care Surgery
  • 10+ of Proven Clinical & Administrative experience
  • Clinical responsibilities within the previous 5 years
  • Proved track record in clinical and/or basic science research with documented publications
  • Must have or be eligible for Arizona State medical licensure
  • Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced management degree (MBA, MHA) preferred but not required
  • Ability to travel to as needed
