The Clinical Educator II provides staff development expertise in their assigned specialty as an educator, expert clinician, consultant, facilitator, change agent, leader, patient advocate and researcher. Each supports the clinical and professional development of their staff, with a goal of achieving excellence in the delivery of evidence based nursing practice.
The Clinical Educator II facilitates the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency, continuing education and professional development. In addition, as a role model of professional behavior, the Clinical Educator II assists in creating a professional nursing climate and supports our mission, vision and values.
Direct reporting to Nursing Director in assigned specialty with an indirect reporting to the Director of Education.
Five (5) years’ clinical experience as an RN in assigned specialty, or as a Clinical Educator or Clinical Instructor.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, is acceptable, with a Master of Science in Nursing
Master of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a Master’s Degree program with an education plan approved by the CNE which will allow completion of the program within three (3) years.
RN = Registered Nurse license from the State of NV Nursing Board.
CT CPRBLS – Basic Life Support – AHA
All mandatory certifications required for RNs in assigned specialty.
Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Experience as a Clinical Educator in an acute care setting.
National certification in specialty or Professional Staff Development.
Instructor status in at least one of the mandatory certifications required for assigned specialty.
