Overview

Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital has been

serving the Sacramento community for more than 100 years. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy General has been at its current site

in the heart of East Sacramento since 1925. Mercy General Hospital has 342 licensed beds, a physician staff of more than 800 and is

the highest volume cardiac procedure hospital in California. Mercy General is one of six Sacramento area hospitals that are part of

Dignity Health, a system of 39 hospitals and medical centers in California, Arizona and Nevada. In FY 2016, Mercy General Hospital

provided $36,095 in unsponsored care and programs for the benefit of our community.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

The Executive Director is responsible for providing senior leadership to the Dignity Health Medical Foundation (DHMF) service line assigned. The Executive Director is responsible for developing the overall strategic plan of the service line including patient care, employee engagement, organizational development, change management, human capital management, physician engagement, financial management and program delivery. The Executive Director is expected to lead in a manner that reflects the DHMF mission, vision and values and incorporate such into daily interaction with peers, employees, physicians and patients.

 

Minimum Qualifications:



  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working in a leadership capacity


  • Demonstrated knowledge of the healthcare industry


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university


  • Strong and effective oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in an Integrated Healthcare Delivery System


  • Breadth of experiences encompassing knowledge of medical group operations to demonstrate understanding of an Integrated Delivery System


  • Experience managing multiple, large-scale, complex projects


  • Experience managing 150+ physicians in multiple medical group practices


  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration strongly preferred
