    Position Summary:

    This position is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and/or NIV testing at a technical level not requiring constant supervision, under the general direction of a radiologist and radiology administration. In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Dignity Health, the Sonographer is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for performing diagnostic testing used in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients.


    Candidate will be responsible for performing general body ultrasound to include abdominal, pelvic and obstetric studies. This individual will also assist physicians in performing procedures, such as biopsies and thoracentesis.




    Must have completed a formal Sonography course or have completed four years of progressively responsible experience in an ultrasound department (such experience must have been within the last five years).This position requires graduation from high school or its equivalent. Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonographers (RDMS) or RDCS or RVT specialization in body or eligibility for certification and must achieve certification within one year of eligibility. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association is required.
