    Mercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region.  Mercy Medical Center Redding is an award-winning 267-bed regional medical center providing inpatient and outpatient services as well as specialized cardiovascular care, stroke care, orthopedics, neurological surgery, comprehensive cancer care, maternity care, and da Vinci robotic surgery.  It is one of only two Level II trauma centers north of Sacramento and houses the only Community Level III neonatal ICU in Shasta County.  In addition, the hospital’s network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice, Golden Umbrella Adult Day Health Care, and Shasta Senior Nutrition Program.  Mercy Medical Center Redding is a member of the Dignity Health system of health care providers and are a sister facility to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff and Mercy Medical Center Mt.     The incumbent is responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing and administering of occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. The incumbent administers treatments and occupational agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. The incumbent also assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.




    • Graduation from an accredited school of occupational therapy required
    • Current California OT license required
    • One (1) year of experience as an occupational therapist required
    • Knowledge and ability to perform an Occupational Therapy assessment required
    •  Knowledge of principles, concepts, modalities and methodology of an Occupational Therapist required
    • Ability to function independently and autonomously required
    • Ability to operate and demonstrate the use of equipment for occupational therapy care required
    • Ability to teach and instruct patients, caregivers and staff required
    • Current BLS certification required (must be certified through the American Heart Association)


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Recent home health experience preferred
