    Responsibilities

    At Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, we deliver humankindness through a wide range of health, social and support services in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona.  As part of our team, you will provide clinical expertise, support and oversight that helps ensure our patients receive exceptional care.  As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to champion the change by joining in our mission of healing through humankindness.

    This fellow will participate in all aspects of the evaluation and surgical management of patients with benign and malignant thoracic diseases of the lungs, esophagus and chest wall. The Fellow will participate in endoscopy, esophageal motility and pH study monitoring and reading.


    Norton Thoracic Institute specializes in a multidisciplinary approach to evaluating, diagnosing and treating individuals with known or suspected diseases of the lungs, chest, diaphragm, mediastinum, or esophagus. Our physicians and staff care for some of the most critically ill patients in the western region of the United States and has the 2nd busiest Lung Transplant Program in the United States.


    Minimum Requirements:


    Completed ABTS requirements or equivalent in Thoracic Surgery training abroad


    Successful completion of cardiothoracic training program


    Minimum of five (5) years general surgical residency


    At least two (2) years cardiothoracic surgery fellowship 


    MD required


    ABTS completion requirements


    Current AZ Medical License
