Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Supervisor of the Surgical Services is a Registered Nurse who directs and coordinates the daily operations of the Operating room, Post Anesthesia Care unit, GI-Lab, and the Same Day Surgery on an 8-hour a day, 5 days a week basis. He/she assumes the administrative responsibilities of the department in the absence of the Department Manager.

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years experience in Operating Room circulating and one (1) to two (2) years experience as charge nurse or higher.
  • Management experience in any field of nursing
  • Able to do skill set assessment and plan education sessions with the help of the dept. educator. This is to compensate for the gaps in knowledge and skills necessary to improve the quality of care and service.
  • BSN is preferred. MSN is desired.
  • A valid RN license issued by the state of California, ACLS and BLS
