Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital has been serving the Sacramento community for more than 100 years. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy General has been at its current site in the heart of East Sacramento since 1925. Mercy General Hospital has 342 licensed beds, a physician staff of more than 800 and is the highest volume cardiac procedure hospital in California. Mercy General is one of six Sacramento area hospitals that are part of Dignity Health, a system of 39 hospitals and medical centers in California, Arizona and Nevada.
The Substance Use Navigator is responsible for interacting and working with the health care team and with patients in the hospital and Emergency Department to find and connect patients to drug treatment resources and outpatient clinic referrals.
Associate degree in a health care related field
1 year recent drug treatment experience
Previous training and work in a drug treatment/alcohol treatment facility or clinic
Excellent communication skills, ability to work with a difficult population and manage multiple priorities
Bachelor's Degree in a related field of substance abuse, crisis management or counseling
Inpatient drug treatment experience
2 year recent drug treatment experience
Recent inpatient hospital experience
